Chapter 01
Choose a duration that fits the school
SEDA Summer mini-stays can be planned from 5 nights to 4 weeks. Start with the time your school can set aside, then work backwards from travel days, teaching objectives and the amount of time the group wants for activities and excursions.
A shorter stay can still have a clear focus. Decide what students should practise or experience, and share that goal when you ask about the programme.
Chapter 02
Plan outside the main summer period
Mini-stays are planned year-round outside July and August, when the junior summer programme is in session. Dates are confirmed for each enquiry, so share a preferred window and any school-calendar limits rather than assuming a particular week is available.
Chapter 03
Check the group requirements early
SEDA Summer mini-stay groups require at least 15 students. Include the expected student count, age range and number of accompanying leaders in your first message. If any numbers are provisional, say so.
Junior programmes are for ages 11–17. Tell the team if the group includes another age range so the programme fit can be checked before you make plans.
Chapter 04
Build a clear brief
- Preferred dates and length of stay
- Student ages, expected group size and leader count
- Preferred centre, or the cities you are considering
- Learning objectives and any subject or activity interests
- Accommodation, meal, access or dietary questions
Chapter 05
Confirm the details for your dates
Programme details can differ by centre and travel window. Ask for the schedule, accommodation and meal arrangements that apply to the dates you are considering, and make sure the written quotation reflects the group brief.
If you are still comparing options, send the shortlist and the school’s priorities. The SEDA Summer team can help clarify which details need to be decided next.
